Character
Appearance
When creating a character, you can choose the following options:
Your character is shown in the center of the screen with your character’s
name displayed overhead
Your character’s appearance will change depending on the items that they
are wearing and also depending on your graphics settings. With minimal
settings, all the characters look the same and some minor animations will
not be displayed.
Life (HP)
In the upper right corner of the screen there is a window with your
character’s avatar and the name of the character. It also shows vital
information like your life, your mana and your accumulated experience(and
how much you have left to reach the next level).
Your character will learn new skills and will be able to wear better
equipment as their level increases.
The life or hit points(HP) of your character measures how much punishment
they can take. In battle, when an enemy damages your character, the number
of hit points you have decreases relative to how strong the incoming hit
was. If your HP reaches 0, your character dies. More information on this
can be found in death and resurrection. The amount of HP you have will
increase as you gain more levels and it also increases depending on the
class you are. Warriors as an example will gain more HP than magic-based
classes. If the character stays out of combat, they will regenerate HP over
time.
-
To find out how many HP your character has, hover your mouse over
the red bar on the upper right corner of the screen and you'll be shown
your total hit points on the right and how much you currently have on
the left.
To restore HP faster, a character can drink a health potion. Health
potions have the benefit of being able to be activated during combat.
Mana (MP)
Mana - the magical energy that flows in your character. Your character
spends mana to use skills and spells. Magicians require much more mana
than warriors, and thus magic-based classes regenerate faster that
physical damage dealing classes. If your character does not use anything
that requires mana, then your mana will begin to regenerate on its own.
-
To find out how much mana your character has, hover your mouse
over the blue bar on the upper right corner of the screen and you'll
be shown your total mana points on the right and how much you
currently have on the left.
To restore the mana faster, a character can drink a mana potion. Mana
potions have the benefit of being able to be activated during combat.
Experience (XP)
Traveling around the world fighting monsters and other characters and
doing quests will increase the character's experience. With a certain
amount of experience, the character reaches a new level. The amount of
experience needed to reach each level grows progressively, as does the
amount of experience that you receive per kill as you are able to fight
tougher monsters.
-
To find how much experience is needed for the next level, hover
your mouse over the yellow bar on the upper right corner of the screen
and you'll be shown your total experience points needed for the next
level on the right and how much you currently have on the left. To see
how much experience is needed for each level, take a look at the
Experience Table.
Experience can be gained in three ways:
-
Killing various monsters
-
Complete quests
-
Buy it from shops or other players (reserved for pets).
Moving from level to level, your character gains life(HP) and mana(MP), and
after reaching a certain level you’ll be able to change
classes.
Character Equipment
The character has 17 slots for items that can be equipped.
-
9 slots for armor
-
1 slot for weapon
-
1 slot for a shield or secondary weapon. Note: Two-handed weapons take
this slot and the slot under the arms.
-
1 slot for shirt
-
2 slots for Rings
-
2 slots for earrings
-
1 slot for Amulet
-
1 slot for Ammunition
The character can also equip Pets
Skills
Your character will learn skills and spells during the course of its
development. Using skills and spells makes killing monsters easier and it
makes the game more dynamic. Each skill has a name, icon and description.
To make them easier to activate once learned, all new skills are
automatically placed on the hot key bar at the bottom of the screen
as soon as they are acquired.
Every class has their own set of skills. When a character receives a new
class, it will learn the basics of that class’ starting skills.
To view the available character's skills, press the Skill button at
the bottom of the screen. This window shows all the skills and character
classes with names and descriptions.
How To Use Your Skills
Skills and spells can be used by clicking on its icon on the skills window
or by clicking on the icon of the skill on your hotbar. You can also
press the corresponding hotkey associated with that skill. More
information about setting up hotkeys can be found in the
Hotkeys section.
Skills and spells will have their status shown to you on the icon itself:
-
Skills that are available to use have a bright icon.
-
Skills that cannot be used while the character is in battle look lighter.
-
Skills that are still recharging are shaded.
-
Skills that cannot be used by the character have a red shade.
How To Learn Skills
Upon changing classes, your character immediately acquires a set of basic
skills for that class. You may then read Skill books to increase
the level of your skills. Skill books can be purchased at the NPCs in town
or purchased from other players in the auction house or by
trading. You can also find them as loot from monsters.
Different skills and spells have different levels of proficiency that you
can reach.
